Hi there, I’m Allyson Small owner and Lead Trainer of EDGE Training Academy. I’m proud to say we help new managers & supervisors with NO FINANCIAL BACKGROUND understand Finance and Budgeting. We get rid of the confusing jargon and use straightforward, plain language. With the development of our unique E.D.G.E. method, complex concepts are simplified and presented in a logical way making it easy for anyone to understand.
A fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants and a Fellow Financial Accountant, I’m personally uniquely qualified to train managerial staff. I’ve enjoyed over 25 years in the financial side of business. Working in the United States, England, and Australia, I’ve experienced it all—from running my own businesses to heading the finance department of an international organisation. It was here I discovered my passion and talent for training staff.
I recognised that often managers lack the basic financial skills to allow them to understand the financial implications of their decisions. Managers who know how to read financial reports have an easier time analysing them for key insights and using them to make better financial decisions. I leveraged my expertise to simplify financial concepts into everyday language, which we believe is the key to unlocking a clear understanding of Finance and Budgeting.
This passion and expertise led to the creation of EDGE Training Academy.
Here at EDGE Training Academy, our team recognise the difficulties that otherwise excellent managers face when they have been given that promotion. Suddenly they are expected to understand & analyse their department’s, and the organisation’s, Financial Statements plus know how to Budget effectively.
